Wedge Street beach access upgrade nearing completion

Work on replacing the Wedge Street (previously 11W) beach access stairs in Ocean Grove began in February and is expected to be completed early next week, which is approximately one week later than originally planned.

While the Wedge Street access point remains temporarily closed, nearby beach access points remain open for public use.

This project, approved by the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA), includes new beach access stairs featuring a viewing area with seating, along with upgraded track and fencing. These improvements aim to enhance safety and accessibility for all beachgoers.

The upgrade also addresses damage caused by tidal and storm events while ensuring minimal impact on the surrounding coastal environment.

We appreciate the community’s patience and understanding as we complete these important upgrades. Further updates will be provided as the project reaches completion.
