Celebrating the first week of our Hooded Plover chicks

Published on 12 November 2025

Our Hooded Plover chicks have reached an exciting milestone – 7 days old! Even at this young age, they are showing resilience, making use of natural shelter as they face a large swell and high tide tonight.

To give these little coastal residents the best chance to thrive, we ask that everyone keeps their distance and avoids the area that has been temporarily closed. Your care and attention make a big difference in helping these chicks grow safely.

Let’s wish them luck as they continue their first steps in the world!
