Coastal pathway temporary closures next week

Published on 13 February 2026

Contractors have been engaged to complete the remaining works required to finalise the pathway project. Due to availability, these works will take place within a limited window next week.

Works are scheduled for Monday 16 February and Friday 20 February on the pathway section between Barwon Bluff West (emergency marker BHB132) and The Corner 13th Beach (emergency marker THI135). The scope of works involves heavy machinery on site to re-sheet and regrade the pathway surface, and some disruption should be expected during working hours.

Contractors will begin setting up from approximately 8.30am, with works commencing at 9.00am to allow early morning pedestrian traffic to pass through. Each day’s works are expected to conclude at around 4.00pm.

During this time, sections of the track will be temporarily closed and not passable, and pedestrians will need to use alternative routes. The work area will be clearly signed and physically barricaded. For safety reasons, there will be no ability for members of the public enter the work zone due to the heavy machinery being used to carry out the works.

We thank the community for their patience and cooperation while these final works are completed.
