Construction commences on new entrance cabin project

Published on 6 July 2026

Construction has commenced on Stage 1 of the new entrance cabin project at Barwon Heads Caravan Park, marking the beginning of works to install the underground services and stormwater infrastructure required to support the new accommodation.
The site is now an active construction zone, with works currently including non-destructive digging (hydro excavation), road excavation, concrete cutting, electrical and plumbing works, and the delivery of construction materials. To protect important environmental and cultural values, a qualified arborist is supervising excavation works around vegetation and Cultural Heritage advisors are monitoring all ground disturbance.
The park’s main entrance remains temporarily closed while underground services are installed. During this time, vehicles should enter the park via the temporary entrance off Bluff Road, with signed pedestrian detours in place around the work site. Parking in front of the park office is temporarily unavailable.
For everyone’s safety, please follow all traffic management directions and onsite signage when travelling through the area. Barwon Coast thanks the community, guests and permit holders for their patience and understanding while these important works are underway.
Further updates will be shared on our website as construction progresses.
