Corner beach access stairs (13th Beach) now open

Published on 17 December 2025

Barwon Coast is excited to celebrate the opening of the new beach access stairs at the Corner, 13th Beach, today (17 December, 2025).
Thanks to funding from the Victorian Government’s 2024–25 Coastal Public Access and Risk Grants Program, the new stairs replace a structure that had served the community for more than 25 years but had been damaged by storms and erosion.
The upgraded stairway incorporates feedback from our Accessibility Community Survey and is designed to meet modern safety standards while protecting the fragile dunes and coastal vegetation.
We thank the Victorian Government, Minister for Environment Steve Dimopoulos, Member for Bellarine Alison Marchant MP, DEECA, and the Wadawurrung Traditional Owners for their ongoing support and collaboration on this important upgrade.
Barwon Coast is committed to protecting public safety, maintaining access to our coastline and delivering infrastructure that is more resilient to coastal processes and climate impacts.
We appreciate the community’s patience while these essential were carried out. Beachgoers can now enjoy safer and more accessible access to one of the Bellarine’s most popular spots.
