Bookings now open for winter stays with dogs and campfires

Published on 4 May 2026

Cooler nights are here, and two winter favourites are returning to Barwon Coast Caravan Parks.

Following a successful trial and strong community and camper feedback, bookings are now open for dog-friendly and campfire-permitted sites for the 2026 winter season.

From 1 May to the end of Victorian School Term 3, dogs and campfires will again be welcomed at selected sites across our parks. That means slow beach walks with your dog, crisp coastal mornings, and evenings gathered around a campfire under the stars.

Dog-friendly sites are available at Barwon Heads Caravan Park, Riverview Family Caravan Park and Breamlea Caravan Park. Campfires are permitted at selected sites at Barwon Heads and Riverview, with campfires not available at Breamlea due to site constraints and environmental sensitivities.

This seasonal offering builds on last year’s winter trial, which responded to long-standing community interest in dog-friendly stays and campfire use, while supporting visitation during the quieter months. Following a review of feedback, the Barwon Coast Committee of Management endorsed continuing the program each year over winter.

We’re looking forward to welcoming visitors back for another season of relaxed, coastal winter stays.
