Filming at Ocean Grove, 13th Beach and Barwon Heads this week

Published on 3 February 2026

Ocean Grove Main Beach, 13th Beach Road and Barwon Heads Main Jetty have been selected as filming locations for an upcoming car television commercial, showcasing our special stretch of coastline.

We want to let the community know in advance and share what to expect. Filming has been carefully planned to be well managed and to minimise impacts on public access and day-to-day use.

Filming will take place on Wednesday 4 February, with Barwon Coast staff onsite throughout the day to support the production and ensure everything runs smoothly.

Ocean Grove Main Beach

Filming time: approximately 8.00am – 10.30am and 12noon – 4pm

  • A section of the Ocean Grove Main Beach gravel overflow car park, located east of the toilet block, will be used by the production company
  • A green screen will be set up in the car park for the later filming timeslot
  • The beach will remain open at all times
  • The pedestrian access pathway will remain fully open and unobstructed
  • All vehicles, crew and equipment will be positioned clear of public access routes

13th Beach Road

This special location has been chosen as it is an iconic stretch of coastline.

Filming time: approximately 4.00am – 10.00am

  • Traffic will be stopped briefly as required and released as soon as it is safe to do so
  • Beach access will remain available
  • No permanent road closures
  • Any delays are expected to be short and managed.

Barwon Heads Main Jetty

Barwon Heads Main Jetty has been selected to highlight the character and activity of the jetty precinct.

Filming time: approximately 11am-3pm

  • Pedestrian access to the jetty will remain open at all times
  • Access from the car park toward the jetty will remain open
  • Filming will be staged to work around normal community use of the jetty.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while this filming takes place and for helping us showcase the coast.
