Vandalised play equipment to be removed from Flinders Parade

Published on 20 May 2026

Barwon Coast is saddened to advise that vandalised play equipment at Flinders Parade will need to be removed following significant damage.
Unfortunately, the equipment cannot be repaired and, with the structure approaching the end of its useful life, we will consider future replacement opportunities through the draft Foreshore Master Plan, which is due to be released for public feedback in coming weeks.
We know this will be disappointing for local families, visitors and children who enjoy using the space – and we are disappointed too. Public play spaces are important community assets, designed to be shared and enjoyed by everyone.
Damage to public infrastructure has a lasting impact on the whole community, affecting not only access to facilities, but also the resources available for other projects and maintenance across the coast.
If you witness anyone damaging public property, please report it to Victoria Police: www.police.vic.gov.au/report
