Bancoora SLSC redevelopment

Published on 6 October 2026

About the project

The Bancoora Surf Life Saving Club is undergoing a major redevelopment to deliver a modern, accessible and safe facility for the Club and wider community.

The redevelopment will increase the Club’s capacity to support emergency lifesaving operations, community programs and recreational activities at Bancoora Beach, while providing improved facilities for volunteers and beachgoers.

Around half of the existing single-storey building will be retained, with a new two-storey extension constructed to the west of the existing building footprint.

The ground floor will include operations and consultation rooms, administration areas, public amenities, change facilities, first aid and patrol support areas, a kitchen and storage for emergency equipment.

The upper floor will include a training room, servery, lobby, deck and amenities.

Project timeline

Construction is underway and is anticipated to be completed by mid 2027.

Bancoora Beach will remain open throughout the construction period, and the Club will continue to operate with some changes to access.

Funding

The redevelopment is jointly funded by the Victorian Government’s Department of Justice and Community Safety, Barwon Coast and Bancoora Surf Life Saving Club.
